Oblivion And laptops

Post by Zeke7050 »

Hey,

I'm trying to install Oblivion on a Laptop. The Laptop meets the system requirements and just in case it doesn't I've downloaded oldblivion. When I goto start up I get the familar start menu and upon clicking Play I get an error:

"Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Its a microsoft error. Gives me the choice to send an error report or whatnot. anyhelp??

Zeke

Graphics card maybe? I get the same error on my desktop with an older gfx card, but my laptop runs it fine. Do you get the same error with oldoblivion?
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

Obliv

Yeah,

I get the same error with oldblivion. This laptop I'm on was purchased this year and is pretty much the latest one. its an Inspiron E1405. The video drivers are up to date according to Dell's Website.

When I start either oblivion or oldblivion I change the graphics setting to very low and the screen resolution down to null and the take off all the graphics card demanding features such as blood, distant landscape and what not. I still get the same error message.
