You're dual classing, right? Because if so, you can't advance in your original class until you surpass its level in your new one.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Not intentionally...what happened was I reached lvl 7 Druid and my alignment changed to good, so I had to take some levels in Ranger. I hadn't gotten any spells for a while before that, and never got any in Ranger. I'm back to leveling in Druid and still none.
I'm probably confusing matters with BG2, anyway. What are your stats? Let's start, there.

At level 8 Druid you'll only have access to spelllevel 4, so everything is right there. You'll not get more druid spells until you advance your druid levels.
Well, according to the spell-progression charts in the manual, a druid will gain spell-level 5 spells when you reach class level 9 with your druid.
Remember, your ranger levels does not count as druid levels.
It is not character level you need to take into account, but your levels with the given class.
