Little bit of info please
I am not really a pc gammer. about the only thing that I play on the PC is RTS like warcraft and starcraft things like that. but when I saw some adds for this game it kind of peaked my interest. I have been playing Oblivion and getting used to controls with keyboard and mouse so I am over that hump but I wanted to know what bloodlines is like. I had a hard time telling from the ad I saw. How would you rate story is my main question. I do love a rich storyline. Graphics, soundtrack. I dont know much about this game are you a vampire are you a vampire hunter? is it first person? just kinda want to get to know a little more about this game before I go and buy it.
I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other gods you will understand why I dismiss yours.

This game is a unique blend of first person shooter and RPG. It is first person, and there are combat situations. However, you gain xp which you can use to build your character how you see fit. Stealth, ranged combat, melee combat, social skills - all of these can be modified with xp.
You play as a vampire, one of 7 playable clans. Each clan has different strengths and weaknesses and a unique set of vampiric powers called Disciplines.
The graphics are decent. Not quite on par with the next-gen games coming out these days, but overall pretty good. The sound track is excellent.
I've picked up a couple RPG's lately that I felt fell short when it cames to storyline. This game was not one of those. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and it is the main reason I've played the game as much as I have.
Oh, and if you decide you do want to get the game, you won't be able to find it in stores anymore. It is available from Direct2Drive, though

I asked about the first game and nobody really thought it was worth bothering with - this one has a mix of linear play, where there is little to do outside of the 'missions' and times when there are so many missions available that it feels a pretty open-ended game. the middle section is the best for free-will, but the missions can be challenging and playing the different clans can give it variety.
I do have a fairly standard way of optimising XP/skill points and the development of certain skills, but that is just wanting as many spare skill points to make the character how I want it - sometimes I decide to be persuasive, sometimes I want to shoot things, sometimes I want to hack at things and sometimes I just want to sneak. the 'disciplines' which are uber-skills powered by renewable bloodpoints - are varied between the clans and that seriously affects the way in which you approach individual missions.
for example, if you are in a clan with Auspex, it seems a waste not to develop firearms skills - if you have fortitude, you want to be using it to protect your hacking self - if you have obfuscate then sneaking is your bag.
even though a Malkavian can be difficult to play - obfuscate makes so many missions much easier than for other clans.
personally, I never really got on with being Nosferatu as scaring children has never been my thing, but even largely ignoring the nossie, the clans give the game variety.
it takes a lot of game-play hours to complete, so expect a few bleary-eyed mornings at work and the risk of accusations of being more in love with the PC than your partner. personally, I find the eroticism of the whole vampire genre can add to my relationship. just be careful if she calls you "Grout" when she's fastening the restraints!
