Where is Umbra

I can't find Umbra on the map I understand it's North East of Suran, but I don't know what the best way to get there is.

I agree, don't fight him until you are advanced and well equipped. Of course, by then, you might not care about his sword, and you might want to leave him there. Why? Because he adds life to the landscape. Morrowind needs that.
