360 Help! Fast Please!

Post by penguin_king »

whenever i insert a game into my 360 the small bar on the screen say reading, then after a few seconds it just says 'open tray' meaning there's no disc. i've tried a few different games and the same thing happens, i only got the console 2 months ago so i don't want to have to replace it.

That sounds like it may be something similar to the problems early Xbob owners had. Microsoft used horrid disc drives because they were cheaper and they just didn't work right. It may be they did it again.

Sounds like a hardware problem from the looks of it. Since you said that you bought your XBox 360 two months ago, I highly suggest using your warranty and replace it at the place where you bought it. This is the only way that I know of. I'm afraid there are no alternatives.

First question. How do you use your system? Is it standing up, or is lying down on its side? This is important because, in my experience, the 360 consistently has issues with the disc drives while standing up (resulting in read issues, chewed up discs, disc rings and so forth).

It's probably a hardware problem, and i don't think opening the thing is allowed by the warranty :p So, as the others say (and if the above advice doesn't work), go get it replaced.
