Changed the thread title to something more appropriate to the question. It'd be wise to do so in the future to get better results as people don't want to walk in blindly if all you type is "SPOILER!" and nothing more.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Callindra is an ore miner. You can recruit her to mine ore for you as soon as you have the Keep; without ore, you cannot upgrade your Greycloak's weapons/armor. Once you have the Keep, go talk to her as soon as you can and ask her if she wants to come work for you. You *have* to ask her, she's not going to come on her own.

I know in version 1.02, she never left the inn. You could find her at the inn and at the keep. Have you looked for her at the keep? You should find her outside near the entrance.

Well I think you need the old miner you resuce from the Orcs whom is at Old Owl Well, next to the Sergent you recruit.
You need the miniers before you can get the Blacksmith and Weaponsmith, but must repair the Blacksmith building before you get the BS and WS.
So you might need to first repair the Blacksmith building, get the BS and WS, then get the old miner and finally Calindra.
Though I am not certian that order is certian just a suggestion.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
Bummer, I have had so many problems like this I am no longer able to remember how many times I have started.
Did you make a save at the Start of Chapter 2, before the trial or before the Keep?

In my experience the order of recruiting the miners and weapon/armor makers does not really matter. Even when the smithy is not rebuild they will come, They will just complain about not being able to do anything yet.
I however fail to see the connection between the miners at old owl well and Callindra. They seem to work independently from each other.
I usualy report my ore findings to Callindra and recently the half-orc miner started complaining about the fact that he had nothing to do at the keep.
It does't seem to me like you need both, unless you have two seperate ore findings or something before you check back in to the keep. But I have not tried that yet.

Ok, I thought she was the manager, while he and his crew were the diggers.
Has anyone one been able to get the ore dug without her?
Or without him for that matter?

I've recruited both in one game. It makes no difference whom you report to; either Pentin will mine for you, or Calindra, but only always the one you DO report your ore findings to. However, in all my games, if I don't recruit at least one of them, Jacoby ( weapon smith ) and the guy from Highcliff will not appear in my Keep until I've recruited either Calindra or Pentin. They keep telling me that without someone to mine ore, there's no sense in them coming to the Keep, and I should come talk to them again once I hired a miner.
In my last game Pentin ended up getting on my case after a while, and once he started threatening to leave if I didn't find some ore to mind for him, I just left him standing there next to Calindra and reported my ore findings to her. Pentin never left, I never talked to him again. For all I know, he'll be standing there till doomsday.
I think the choice between Calindra and Pentin is simply a cosmetic one; for the good characters, have nice-mannered Calindra, for the "evil" characters, there's rough-talking Pentin.

Intresting, I wonder if he is taking a bigger share then, as the reason he gave he was leaving (think it was around the 6th ore) was he had become rich and didn't need to work for me any more, or something like that.
He even paid me 1500 gold upfront to mine for me since I had an opption, saying the deal was heavly favored towords him and he agreed.
I may try just Calindra this run through see if my ore goes farther.
I have the maxium 8 ore at that point, so I will see if I get further upgrades.
