Anyway to "reset" an NPC?

Post by Krylancelo »

I accidentally attacked Arthur Kilpatrick and now he won't talk to me, just runs around the room scared all the time... I did so many quests and don't know if I have a save old enough to go back to.

Is there a cheat or any other way to reset the way an NPC reacts to me? I want to do the rest of the quests he can provide.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you're stuck. I accidentally beaked a cop once, and never did find a way to reset him. The stooge spend the rest of the game prowling Santa Monica with weapon drawn. Must have made the locals tres edgy Fortunately, cops aren't quest-givers. If you whacked Art, and you haven't got a save from before that, I think you're looking at a new game. Sorry.

The good news is that all of Arthur's quests are fairly early on, so you won't wind up losing too much.

Sorry to say this but there is only one way to do it...Use an earlier save game.

You might try taking a quick drink from him. One of three things will happen:

1) He'll go dizzy, snap out of it, and be fine again.
2) He'll go dizzy, snap out of it, and either keep freaking out or not have a talk icon any more.
3) He'll go dizzy and stay there no matter what you do, just wavering back and forth... Like a fat bobble head doll.
I was Diablorised once. I got better.
