Mage or Neverwinter Nine tower? (possible spoiler)

Post by Meezly1 »

Is there an advantage in building a mage tower, or a tower for the neverwinter nine at crossroads keep?

Not much other the different merchants you'll get access to.

The keep aspect seems to be somewhat neglected as in various building types and their effects.

My first time through, I built a mage tower and: (Spoiler follows)

...other than having access to an extra vendor, I saw no benefit. However, at the siege of CK, there were two mages on the walls behind me, casting fireballs at the siege towers, so they may have been a result of my choice. This time through I'm choosing the NW 9 HQ, and see what deffferences there are.
Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night.
Set a man afire, and he'll be warm the rest of his life.

Those two wizards are there even if you choose to give the tower to Sir Nevalle and his Neverwinter Nine units.

There is an advantage to building a neverwinter nine tower in the keep. When i was playing as a fighter/weapon master and built the NW9 tower an option in the dialog showed up where my character asked Nevalle,

"Can you teach me anything?".

And after quick blank screen i got the message that,

"Sparring with Nevalle has given you a slight attack bonus!".

I don't really know if the mage tower offers similar services because i have'nt really played a spellcaster yet.Anyway i hope this helps answer your question.

If memory servers you get an interesting discussion about the realms if you go with the mage. The merchant didn't sell anything I needed.

Zhjaeve doesn't trust Startear (mage tower), saying "All within would be courpted" or something cliose.

Is her reference to something specific negitive consequence to the story or just an alagorcial reference about Startear's alingment, i.e. I am guessing Neutral Chaotic?

It looks like both Nine or Mage tower would get equal boost in Land Security of +10 (21_Security_Land).

I do wonder if either or even the Gambleing Den has any effect on recrutment

Thanks.
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
