Friggin' Jaheira! Did a chimp write her scripts?

Am I cursed to NEVER get all the way through a game without her freaking out on me? I thought I was doing fine this time around until she started repeating the damn "morning after" speech over and over and over again, prompting that moron Elminster to bury me under an unending barrage of Harper Pins. Where the hell was he on my first game where she started looping much earlier and I couldn't get ONE Pin? Bah!

I know it's been determined that doing the whole Dermin thing too early in the romance causes the other dialogue loops with her, but does anyone have any clue as to what the hell causes the Harper Pin loop? Man, I'm sick of this. I'm going to be pissed if they continue the romances in the expansion but I'm stuck at this speech. I will NOT play through that first dungeon again and start yet another new game. I've done that four times in the past month because of Jaheira bugs, and I can't do it again. I'll snap.

This infinite harper pin loop seems to happen to me too, but ONLY when I mess with either Jaheira's alignment, or her class(es).

From what I read, though, it doesn't sound like you've done that...

I think almost everyone has the infinite Harper pin thing happen. But I think the morning after dialogue is meant to be repeated. There's a "Jaherianookie" value in the global variables, and while I'm not certain, I think that's what that is.

In answer to the first question, I haven't done a thing to Jaheira's class or alignment. I've had debug mode off this entire game, and haven't used Shadowkeeper either. Been 100% legit all the way through, just like I almost always am, and yet I STILL can't complete a game without Jaheira screwing up. If it's not one thing then it's another.

In answer to the second, I'm not sure if this dialogue was meant to be repeated or not, but I'm sure it wasn't meant to be repeated the way I'm getting it, considering she's saying "good morning" in the middle of the afternoon in a dungeon when it's been about 15 hours since our last rest. If I leave the game off pause for about half an hour after standing around making the usual "bored" comments for a while she'll start saying it. Then as soon as I leave the dungeon Elminster is there with another Harper Pin. I liked his speech the first time I heard it, but now it's almost up there with the first Irenicus speech in terms of being maddening.

Have you tried attacking elminster? He cant be killed but if you take him down to almost 0 hp's he will gate out. Dont know if it will stop him from coming back but it may be worth a try. Be warned the battle will be will be very hard.

Elminster doesn't bug me too much. After all, I can just drop the pins on the ground, which I've been doing, and the 100k exp is hardly an inconvenience, although I didn't actually want it more than once. Heh, the game is forcing me to cheat.

My main problem is with Jaheira's end of this bug. I don't mind the repeated conversations too much, but if she's looping then that means the romance is stuck. Granted, I'm at the end of it for this game anyway, but hopefully they'll continue them in the expansion and I don't want to be stuck or have to start a new game just to continue. Since I've run into this problem several times now I'd be very interested in finding out what causes it in the hopes of avoiding it in the future.

This is a REALLY common bug. I've played through 3 times doing Jaheria Romance, and ger it each time. Rest assured that if it is a loop, they'll be a fix for it.
