I think I messed up with the mods

Post by Shine »

Oops.
I'm experimenting with some mods just to see what else this game can come up with. So I installed the Banter pack V6.
Well, now no one is talking at all. No banters, certainly not any new ones. If I try Cntrl-I to prompt some, I get things like SPPOWATC, SPFLESH2 or SPCLOUDS, whatever that means.
I am in Spellhold. I have anomen, jahiera, edwin (plus ed romance, which is a silly thing), keldorn, and imoen.
Argh, anyone else having trouble with this banter pack?

V6 of the Banter Pack has been around for a while now and I've never had any problems with it.

Could you post your Wediu list, it might help.

I have installed, in this order:
SoA
ToB
ToB patch
The G3 Crossmod V4 mod (which I don't really need, since I don't have the mod combinations included in that package)
Ease of Use V32
Tsujatha (had him in this party, then kicked him out for Imoen)
Edwin romance
Edwin flirts
Edwin patch
Shadowkeeper
Banterpack V6

It was after the banterpack that people stopped talking. I suppose the thing to do is to uninstall it, but surely this ought to work!
Edwin's Lovetalk seems to be done for SoA (the louse!) but the flirts, such as they are, are working.

Addendum to the above:

I just went back through some savegames. While I can't precisely recall when I installed the Banterpack, everything works right up until I kicked Tsujatha out to get Imoen back. He didn't seem happy about it, but taking my banters with him is just rude

I reinstalled the banterpack, but that didn't help matters, either.

I'm not sure what's up with those strange words that come up when I hit Cntrl-I (SPPOWATC, SPFLESH2 or SPCLOUDS). I did get those all along, but usually a banter comes up for every three of four of these things.

I'd suggest posting about it in the Banterpack forum.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

It's normal when you (almost) run out of available banter. The engine runs through everything randomly picking at dialogues, and if it already played out or the conditions aren't right, it won't comeup. Just keep pressing, and allow a tiny bit of time after each Ctrl+I :)

Well, this would appear to be another Tsujatha bug.
I used the CLUA console to move everyone back to the slums where I left Jan and tried to switch Tsujatha for Jan. Then I tried some of the others. The result is the same. When Tsujatha leaves the party, so do all banters.

So I kept Tsujatha but ditched Anomen and Jahiera in favor of Minsc and Viconia before heading back to Spellhold. Sure makes for more interesting conversation. I managed to stop Keldorn from taking a chunk out of Viconia but I think 'save often' is probably a good idea at this point :)
