Bohdi Lair question

I am currently in 3rd chapter trying to finish the "last" request from Thief Aran:

-cleaning out Bohdi's lair and staking vampires.

Problem, I have entered chamber, lost the Golem and Haz (killed), and have wiped out the complete chambers as well as below. I cannot "stake" the coffins as it isn't allowing me to do so nor do i know "how" to hold/use the stakes.

Is it possible I did something out of order?

fyi I also cleared out the southern crypt.

I went back to Aran and of course he told me I was wasting time and to "finish"

I know it sounds silly, but did the character you had perform the staking action actually have stakes? There are 3 coffins to stake, each will come up with a sword icon as you pass the cursor over them. Stake them all (all you need is have the stakes in your inventory) and Bodhi will show up for a chat.

I have stakes in all char's inventory, I did not try immediately upon entering, but rather after clearing out quite a bit of the crypt. Are the 3 in the "north" end of the large chamber? With this same chamber west of the downstairs lair?

If you have stakes in your inventory you should be able to hold the cursor over the cofens and click on them to stake them.

I believe all 3 to be at the far west of the 'main' level. North of a set of stairs, south of bath of blood, in a room guarded by a gollem.

Boy - certainly confused. Still can't "kill" the sleeping vamps!

I have the crypt, completely cleared out. I cannot seem to get a sword icon to show up over the 3 coffins in the room (south of blood bath, north of stairs) I have all stakes in inventory (main PC) 4 from Aran plus additional ones i picked up. I tried both during "day" hours and night.

Only thing is perhaps I should go back to save (right b4 I entered chamber with Haz and Golem ready to open the chamber)

***I am still in chapter 3

Any thoughts?

well restart to entrance of chamber has proved the fruitful, i have NOW been able to stake 2 vamps, i am killing vamps - then immediately checking coffins. Strange but it is working. Don't know why clearing then checking didn't work.
