Blue twirly thingy over my head
Blue twirly thingy over my head
I am just curious about the little blue twirly things that pop-up over my head after I killed the gladiator in the arena in skuldoon. They look like little orbiting blue comets......don't seem to do anything....just distracting.....Thanks
Odd, I can't say that I have ever noticed anything like that. Does it happen everytime you are in the arena? Did your character get hit over the head? Maybe he or she is seeing stars...
If you have a screenshot of it, I would like to see that. (sorry, I am not too much help on this one...)

Mm, that is what I thought at first that jerrye meant when I saw the title of the thread. There is a spell called "Silence" which renders the target unable to cast spells for a short period of time. A witch can cast the spell as well as a player character. That is why you see the swirly thing over the character's head.
It just seemed weird that somebody would see it in the arena because I don't think the minotaur has enough brains to cast a spell.

Does the swirley thing look like this?
The snakes have that thing over their heads because we cast "fear" (purple) and "soften" (yellow) on them, both are nether spells. The blue swirly does come from the silence spell which is a celestial one, which I mentioned in my earlier post. If you see it over the character's head in the arena after killing the monster, it might be some weird glitchy thing...and goodness knows the word glitchy surely reminds me of Dungeon Lords!

Did you ever figure out what the swirley thing was jerrye? You have whetted my curiosity...
POISON, if your character is a magic user, your friend might have cast silence on you to prevent you from temporarily casting spells. Or maybe a nether spell, lots of those leave swirleys over the head too. Looks very colorful.

I never had any idea what that one was (I know what you mean though). I thought that some of them incapacitated me maybe sleep? But I thought some were like curses that lowered my abilities??? I thought of curses since I could still move around and stuff but I figured they weren't helping me.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

this is usually cast by the twisted sylph and believe it or not every once in a while a baddie will get into skulldoon via the mountains try running behind the arena when this happens and see if you spot an enemy up on the mountains
she may be stuck in a rut just out of your scoutting range
better yet if you have a crystal of vision turn it on and take a look at the surrounding area skulldoon guards dont attack enemies unless the are somewhere near the road or gates so anything to the sides is fair game
