Ok so I played through Oblivion this summer. Well, I played through it as much as could be expected, beating the main quest, all the guilds, and anything else that came my way along the way.
But anyways, I got Knights of the Nine, so naturally I go back to playing. I go to use my main guy who is level 33. I load it up and for some reason many of my skills are WAY higher than they should be. I have a 187 Marksman skill, a 163 Sneak skill. My athletics is at 160 and its not even an attribute listed in green (meaning I dont even have equipment changing it). Now, some attributes are not raised. For instance my Blade stayed around where it should be, like 63 (I was mainly an archer), my blunt stayed at a manly level 7. But some things were raised to ridiculous highs that they just were not at before.
Furthermore, the game seems to think I did in fact level up a load of skills in the meantime, because I can now level up to 41 all the way from level 33. I generally dont bother waiting to level up, and I definately hadnt held back levels like that.
Some bug has made my guy better than he should be. I am not really complaining, but just wondering if anyone knows what caused it.
My guy is too good

A mod related glitch? I've seen weirder things happen with Morrowind. I haven't had nearly as many mods installed compared to Oblivion though.
