Has anybody found out what this is for?

Never even heard of this item, i'm very curious to find out where you obtained it. There has been rumors of a connection between the people in Twisted Rune, the empty potion bottles in Guarded Complex, and Koshi. Maybe this could have something to do with that.

(This potion will supposedly incapacitate an ogre, the small hand written label warns against feeding it to anything other than an ogre,as the taste has been perfectly designed to appeal to said race.In other words the potion is disgusting and will induce vomiting in anyone other than a ogre.)This the description.I want to say i found it when i was on the quest to free Haer'Dalis.I could be wrong. If i was a betting man ,i would bet 100.00 it was there.

Hrm that is most interesting, I've been through the Astral Prison a few times in my career as a professional game junkie, never came across that item.
There aren't ANY quest ogres that I can remember, unless it's a class specific quest that I haven't done yet, like a bard only quest or a priest only quest. Because it seems like you would use this to get past a certain part of the game without resorting to a fight.
Or maybe it's something you give to a non-ogre to make it sick so you wouldn't have to fight him/her.

Not the Astral prison. The place where he is the first time ,something about a gem and a mage you could kill or get him a mirror.

IIRC, I found it in a chest in Jan's house, in the slums, downstairs. It's a quest item, too, so if I kick out the person with it, it gets transferred to my main char. Don't have a clue what it does, though, the only ogre who's even slightly challenging is the jailer in the illithid tunnels in the underdark, and he's not exactly threatening.

Here is my thought's.I was just walking around, looking, and try to talk to everyone in the bridge district when i happen upon a dwarf yell at two ogre's to get back to work.(This was below the Five Flagon Inn at the water). One of the ogre's kept telling the dwarf that one of them was sick.(i thought ha here is where i use this potion)Next thing i know the ogre goes red and with one punch kills the dwarf then turns on me.I cound't get close to see if this potion is for this scene.Plus i said the hell with it and moved on.If anybody trys this just be prepared to act quick. On the other hand this might not have anything to do with the potion.

I've also found this alchemist' potion, on both times I played, but I'm still stupified as to what to do with it. You can't sell it, drink it, feed it an Ogre ...
By the way, there is an Ogre Mage in the tower of the Druid Grove, near where you have to take care of the Rakshasa for the Djinni's in Trademeet. The Ogre Mage only appears if you have progressed somewhat into the quest for the Gong of Captain Dennis' mother.

The potion is actually related to one of the NPC quest for Mazzy. Some of the guesses were right. Yes, it's a quest item, and yes you do feed it to an ogre.
After yo got Mazzy, just go to copper cornet (during day) and you'll get a real short and quick quest. I won't spoil the details. I got this quest after I finished her sister poison thing. I don't know if you can get it before or not.
