To quote the walkthrough. It says "We’re not too sure about a couple of the middle clues, but the first two clues clearly point you to Orchard Farm"
But I think I know what the clues in middle mean already.
1. "To begin your quest, go to the region where scrumping Hobbes were discovered in legion."
2. "Your hunt for the treasure can only come good if you start your search where fruit lies in wood."
alright.. so 1 and 2 point to Orchard farm. I know you guys got that.
3. "With your back to the Lake, walk into the light. Proceed no further when it's no longer in sight."
Now the third clue... they say to face your back to the lake and walk into the light. The only thing that will 'light' is the lamp on the pole. and if you look around when you're facing the lake, you'll see a lamp on the barn pole thing. When you walk to the pole, when they say no longer in sight, they mean turn your back to the lamp post thing, standing in between the barn and hay that is.
4. "The nearest construction points with its limb. Follow its direction, but don't stop on a whim."
The nearest construction happens to be the lamp pole as well =]. If you actually follow the end of the pole holding the lamp [the back part of it that protrudes], it actually points to the frying pan.
5. "You're not going in circles, but riddle me this: repeat the last clue, and you won't go amiss."
6. "Your reward is buried at the end of your trail. Proceed as directed, 'til you're 'twixt wood and bale."
Well then the last 2 clues are fairly straightforward. So yeah.
I was just thinking. Hope it makes sense. Maybe im wrong.. but thats what I got if I interpreted it correctly. =]
My theory to the treasure hunt clues! *spoilers*

To get the fully powered pan with the augmentation slots you need all of the clues. Otherwise you will get just a pan with no augmentation slots.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
