Minogons in HotU (total spoiler)
Are the greater Minogons in the Maker's area golems or not? The scavenger would fix them like the others on the 1st floor but I am having a large amount of difficulty getting through the one's behind Aghaaz's throne room (getting my heinie kicked on a regular basis). I have those weapons that I made and a few others that are supposed to deal well with golems but nothing is working on them. I walked through Aghaaz. Only difficult thing about him was the sheer numbers of golems in the room but we all made it through. I tried using the golem Crusher on the minogons but it barely wounded one after 2 hits with it. Am I missing something here?

I have a Ranger half-elf equipped with Merkil's Hammer and Rapier of the High Road.mr_sir wrote:I don't think Minogons class as golems, I think they are more robots or something - not sure on that. I normally just use magic weapons or spells on them - never had much problem with them really. Which weapons do you have and what is your character?
Valen has Devil's Bane
Nathyrra has the short sword Unmaking and her Deathslayer sword.
Another thing...they (the minogons of course) keep coming back to life after I have killed them. What's up with that?
Sorry, I've just realised which ones you mean and my previous post is completely wrong so ignore it
The Greater Minogons are golems. How I killed them is to use the golem attractor to keep them away from me by placing it on the floor. I then used ranged weapons and spells to destroy them. The golem crusher also works if I recall correctly. Once dead they should stay dead though although I do think they regenerate hit points so maybe you haven't killed them completely. Right click on the Greater Minogon and select examine and you should be able to see it's resistances, weaknesses and whether or not it regenerates. Those Minogons are really hard, at least I found them to be, especially on the hardest difficulty setting. If you use the golem attracter globe thing then you can run away and heal yourself if you start getting too wounded or need to catch your breath.

I ran my cursor over one I did kill (the only one ever!) and it said dead but then I was having to fight it again and it was uninjured just a minute later. That was the closest I came to getting past them...one minogon down! I used the Crusher on them several times and they read only barely injured. The attractor only worked if they weren't in hostile mode which they became hostile as soon as the door came down. This is very hard. Is this a bug or what? I downloaded all of the current patches...
