When does one find out what it means?

I just started Act II, I assumed the githyanki would tell me at their base, but nothing...

Even the background title of Kalach-Cha still states it's a mystery.

Should I have been told already? If so, what dóes it mean?

I think Zeeaire can tell you, if you take the right dialoge options with her. Since she didn't, you'll have to wait until you reach Crossroad Keep in Act II.

THe Githyanki Sword-dude tells you.

I don't remember exactly what, But I do remember that it isn't nice.

You are being blamed for Jerro's actions, basically.

Actually, the title had to be created to describe a totally new phenomenon: a thief who then broke the sword to hide the evidence of his crime and then carried the shards with him.

IIRC it is translated "shard bearer"

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly

Anyway, this thread is kind of sad. Kalach-cha means "shard bearer" but it doesn't have anything to do with a thief breaking up the sword. It refers to you having a shard in your body. You're now the sheathe to the sword, and that has significance.
