Heart of Winter

Post by Buck Santa »

Just out of curiosity, how many of you plan on buying and playing the Icewind Dale expansion pack?

If you haven't even bought Icewind Dale yet and are playing BG2 now (and like it), I'd definitely recommend buying it. The expansion looks to add some serious enhancements, above and beyond that of Baldur's Gate II even. The only drawback is that you can't duel wield =\.

Anyway, let's try to keep this topic from becoming a spamfest please =).

Buck, Sir! No Sir ! I don't have any intention to spam on this threat....You have my sworn honor on it ! That's Spamster honor !

As for Heart of Winter, I'm looking forward to get a copy of it ! Dual wield or not i still think Bioware have something hidden behind their sleeves on the story line and i surely hope it's a good one.
I'm looking forward for it.
Anyway how's NWN ? My finger are now very itchy to get a copy of it too !

I am planning on buying the IWD-HOF expansion as soon as it hits the stores. I enjoyed IWDs style of just mowing through tons of baddies and coming out streaked with gore on the other side. Image
Thats good stuff.

Not having dual wield kind of blows (given my propensity towards Rangers) but it won't detract from the 'overall gaming experience'

Actually, to my knowledge Heart of Winter MIGHT still include dual-wielding. They ARE borrowing a lot of code from BG2.....

I haven't decided yet on Heart of Winter. While I loved Icewind, it's no BG2 and the ending in Icewind kind of felt rushed to me, like there wasn't that big a mystery leading up to it. If I wan't a twitch game, I'll play Diablo 2. If I want hard-core storytelling, BG2 it is. Icewind fell somewhere in between and while that was cool, I'm not sure I want that again right now. Although spending 4+ hours just rolling 6 characters was kinda nifty...

And, btw, i will wait for the BG2 expansion - no ID for me, no sir.

I will wait for A really DARN long time... but i trust it will come out, eventually (hey, finishing it with two parties - as I am doing now - and playing at a pace of two hours a day or even less... well, if I replay it only once, it will get me till the summer of 2001, at least Image Image Image)

And, no sir, I ain't spamming here. The others do

Good to no that no relentless spamming will take place here. We have to put a stop to such silliness. And if Blizzard is taking so long with their expansion for Diablo 2, I wonder how long Bioware is taking with theirs? It'll be interesting. But I'm really looking forward to their Star Wars rpg. That should be uber-badass.

It's good to see you know your betters Image. Anyway, Bioware is working with LucasArts to make a Baldur's Gate-esque rpg set in the ancient times of the Star Wars universe. Supposedly when Jedi and Sith were running around everywhere. Supposedly will be out in 2002, but we'll see. they may have some info on bioware's homepage, but I haven't checked it out so I'm not sure.

Hey now Maurice. Be kind to those of us who aren't quite as powerful as you in the spamming department. As you mentioned on another thread, no one is close to touching your crown so don't take it personally. Of course, if Ubik happened to disappear mysteriously one day, I sure wouldn't have too much of a problem with that.... Image

What keeps me from Icq Wind dale is at Best Buy, BG is like $12, BG2 is like $50. Now a game (Icewind Dale) made with the original BG engine($12) is still $50!. I was thinking about it but I mean I still have the bastard known as BG2 Image I might coax someone to get it for me for Christmas, so if it sucks I'm out nothing Image
