Tweak Pack killed my game?

Post by HandsomeDevil »

I just installed G3 Tweak Pack and now I can't run IWD: I can't load my existing games and I can't create a new one.

When it tries to load the game, I get a windows error message that reads "An assertion failed in CGameEffect.cpp at line number 1385."

Is there a fix for this or do I have to uninstall everything and re-install from scratch?

Nevermind - I had to uninstall IWD and the tweak pack entirely and start from scratch.

Thanks to the 8 of you that viewed this, though.

I'm not very familiar with the G3 tweak pack you mentioned. One problem might be if it is designed for IWD/HoW/TotL and you don't have the expansions, or vice versa. If you don't have HoW, I believe there's an Ease of Use mod out there to give you increased item stacking, etc.

The best mod with tweaks for IWD that I'm aware of (I'm using it right now) is Auril's Bane. However, you need HoW at least to use it.

One of the options of the G3 tweak pack is to provide icons for many items to more easily differentiate them from one another. Icons are taken from other IE games to add more variety to the appearance of items both in your inventory and on the ground. As these items are not recognized by Dale Keeper, savegames can't be loaded unless you drop all of your items on the ground. Or uninstall this particular component of the tweak pack.
