Third time through

Post by haydox »

I havent played this game in ages, and so this time ive decided to change to a tremere. However, i know there are certain books you can find near the start of the game which save a lot of exp....i also remember that there are certain skills i need to get to certain amounts to use these books.

But, i forgot where the books were, what books they were and which skills i need to get to a certain level to be able to max the usefullness of these books. I did have it printed out from when i was told before, but that was so long ago i lost it :(

Please help somebody :D

P.S. with a tremere should i use melee or firearms (im guessing firearms as i have auspex)?

PP.S. I asked this before but forgot as well! Do i install official patch before unofficial?

I'd recommend melee for a tremere, since you have excellent ranged disciplines.

Install the official patch before the unofficial, yes.

Bloodlines Skill Boosters by Skill:
Stealth 1 or 2 (R: 2) [Apartment across from yours, Santa Monica]

Dodge 1 or 2 (R: 2) [Candle Room, Grout's Mansion]
Dodge 5 (R: 8) [Library, Giovanni Mansion]

Computer 2 (R: 2) [Pawn Shop, Santa Monica (1 or 2)]
Computer 3 or 4 [taught by Bertram Tung after the warrens]
Computer 5 (R: 9) [Ground Zero, Hollywood]

Firearms 1 or 2 (R: 3) [Pawn Shop, Santa Monica]
Firearms 2 or 3 [taught by Romero in cemetery]
Firearms 5 (R: 10) [Upstairs Room, Society of Leopold]

Brawl 2 or 3 [taught by Nines at first meeting in last round]
Brawl 3 or 4 (R: 5) [Room 1, Floor 6, Empire Hotel]

Melee 3 or 4 (R: 5) [Bedroom (Apt #2), Skyline Apartments]
Melee (any) [taught by Nines before the Grout mansion - limited dialogue, requires personal inquiry]
Melee 5 (R: 9) [behind Lockpick 10 door, end of Fu Syndicate]

Finance 3 or 4 (R: 6) [Jezebel's Hotel Room, Empire Hotel]
Finance (any) [taught by Fat Larry if you persuade him to grant a price break]

Security 3 or 4 (R: 6) [Museum Basement, Guardroom]

Some of those locations have changed in the latest unofficial patch; the first computer book is now in the clinic, for example.

Wow, thanks.

Just 2 questions tho, what does R:# mean? And, when you say Stealth 1 or 2, is that what my skill should be on, or what the book will increase it to (in which case my skill would need to be 0 or 1)?

Thanks again

I suppose the number after R indicates how high your research feat needs to be.

And one small correction: the computer book at Trip's shop can teach you 1 & 2, not only 2.
In fact if you sell the books before using them, you can buy them back twice, so you can raise your skill twice with the same book.
