I heard that if you put inventory in public places (or in the inn - for example) and you change from one act to another, the stuff you stored will disappear. Because of that I've been carrying everything with me all the time, which is getting troublesome...
Can anyone tell me:
1) Where is a good place to keep things like crafting components and good stuff (like armor) that you don't want to sell but also don't want to use.
2) What points do you have to worry about your stored equipment going "poof"?
Also...
3) What components should be kept? I find lots of rings & necklaces that I would like to imbue with magic, but in Act 1 I can't really do much of that. I'm also keeping all the gems and bars of mithril and stuff as well. I just don't know what I should keep and what I should sell...
Thanks in advance.
Where to store stuff?
I suppose this is a minor spoiler if you haven't made it this far in the game:

Other than that, there are many "magic bags" available for purchase that reduce the weight of everything in them, and they hold a ton (142 I believe) of items, but does not eliminate the weight.
You can also pack a good many items on your henchies, especially the ones with high STR. You can also put the magic bags on them, and increase their STR to help.
Storing things in game containers isn't a good idea for the reason you stated.
About keeping amulets and such, you cannot enchant these as far as I know so no bother keeping them (ok, you can on certain ones but that comes in later in the game) since the recipes call for metal ingots for amulets, rings, etc.

Spoiler
There is a bag of holding in your keep in Act II when you have your private quarters and the west wing rebuilt. This bag has 142 slots and has 100% weight reduction. If you don't want to wait (and I don't blame you) you can use the console and create one for yourself on the spot.
