Well I defeated Irenicus in the Asylum and I chose to go to the portal but i chose to go with Saemon first. I saved on the part where i just got done talking to him in the tavern. Just to see what what would happen i went to autosave and went through the portal. I'm in the UnderDark. I want to know what's better. Go to stay in the UnderDark or go back to my save and help Saemon. I want to know the benefits of each plz. When i play the game again i will choose the other. Also in the Underdark I can't bring any Drow equipment up to the surface, right? Is there a way i can keep it while going to the surface without it distenigrating?

Go with Saemon. You'll get to go to the Sahuagin city which is very cool. There's lots of experience and loot to grab. This is the only way to get to this area, if you skip it, you're missing out. You get to go to the underdark right after anyway. If I were you, I'd reload to the point you saved at and go the Saemon route.

There's no legal way to keep the drow equipment after leaving the underdark. There's still plenty of good loot that you can bring up though.

Sahuagin City is definitely the way to go. It's extremely underpowered, and has some nice goodies. A shame they didn't beef up your attackers, there. I find them the weakest in the game.

If you want some goodies, extra exp, and some more plot, go with Saemon. If you just want to get this ordeal over with and get back to civilization as quickly as humanly possible, go with the portal.

The Saemon route does hold some humorous situations with a particular 'monster' which carries over to ToB.

Not important, still fun.
