Index oddities

Post by CharlieK »

Ok, so I finally finished the main quest and wanted to go back and find things I've missed or didn't want to take the time to do. The first thing I wanted to do is get all the indexes so for my next game I know where they are. Anyway, the first thing I found was that the index I did have was the Rotheran index - which I found at Irgolas in Caldera(at least I'm pretty sure I found there)! It's the only one I have.
Anyway, I am currently at the Maelkashishi shrine getting the Falensarano index. Got all the way up, found the corpse but no index!!! I searched the corpse, the chest, picked up all the arrows and bow, and looked all around the ledge...no index! I even used Night Eye to see if it lights up - no avail! How do I use the console to make it appear? I'm not one to cheat, but since I've already finished the MQ , thought it would be ok. Thanks!

It should be sitting on top of a scroll near the body, if it aiont there then presumably some mod you're using has moved it for some reason. If you're playing on a PC, you should be able to locate it, and replace it using the construction set.

Nope, no mods at all and I don't have a clue how to use the construction set!!!
I've looked all over that ledge many times - just don't see it! I picked up everything else both on and around the corpse and inside the chest. What I need is the console cheat code that says something like "Place something or other" so it appears so I can get on with it! Thanks!

OK, while in-game pull up your console by hitting the "~" key (it's to the left of the number 1), a box will appear. Type into it exactly as follows:

'Player -> AddItem "index_falen" 1'

Press Enter

If you have done it correctly, your typing will change to a purplish colour. Hit the "~" again to close the box. You should now find the item in your inventory.

Hope that helps :)

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
