Voodoo people

Post by GodGoblin »

I have had an idea for a new character - a voodoo man so far i have decided that he will be a druid, neutral evil and thats it so far. i can really picture him in my head but applying that to paper is rather difficult. does anyone know of any other classes that would be better suited or a prestige? any usefull sources on voodoo would also help. forweapons i have thought scythe, staff, sickle or unarmed and just relying on touch spells for combat.

Any input would be great.

Voodoo?
Hmm, can't recall seeing that before.

Perhaps a witch class?
Warlock...? nah.

I would suggest doing some research on the religion to be honest. My ex studies the religion, but she's extremely busy, so wouldn't be of much help. However, there are books on it, not many, but there are one or two good ones I've heard. Out of the things you listed though, I would suggest a druid that relies on touch attacks or a staff/walking stick.
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"

I do like the idea of the walking stick and i have also looked into the luck stealer prestiegebut its not the kind of thing im looking for, i think that staying druid would be best. i was also thinking that instead of holly and mistletoe as a focus how about a strange shrunken head?

Yeah, a curse on yourself that shrunk your head sounds like an awsome background!
I may even use that myself one day.

If you go with the stereotype, make hime a necromancer/warlock. Focus on spells and invocations that allow you to create an army and to allow you to charm people. The 5th lvl invocation "Devils Whisper" gives you the use of suggestion and at the end of it grants a -5 to will saves to have the target believe that they thought of it, and it can only be removed with break enchantment or higher.
