Graphical Conflict

Post by ashtaroth »

Few days past, seeing as several new official plugins would not function without the most recent patch (1.2 as it was suggested on the official forums) i decided to install just that. However, when i initated the game and loaded my most recent save i observed something that would later on prove quite irritating.
Helms, weapons, eyes, noses and rings were for some reason rendered completely white and for some reason which i suspect is the same one for the character-objects trees that i would approach would sometimes turn black, completely random seemingly (same in reagards to the other objects).
Strangely, these objects are the only ones effected and as i states, the white and black rendering seems to appear randomly but probably has some obscure reason for taking in effect.

I would attach i screenshot, but i am not certain of how create one as the printscreen-button no longer seem to function properly.

I have no idea what kind of glitch this is, but for screenshots which would indeed help on this, you need to go into the oblivion directory, I forget which though, so you might do both (C:\Program Files\Oblivion and C:\My Documents\My games\Oblivion....).

Replace-
bAllowScreenShot=0

With-
bAllowScreenShot=1

Replace-
iScreenShotIndex=0

With-
iScreenShotIndex=1

and if that is correct which I think it is, it will create screenshots for you in your normal oblivion directory (The program files one).

Ah, I may have an idea. Are you using the modification interface? The one that allows you to customize that set of stats and compass and stuff down at the bottom right of the screen?

I've had glitches with that before, not the same as this, but definitely graphical glitches.

I previously used the Elven Cartographer but later disabled it since it would no longer function along with the 1.2 patch, i also however still utilize the btmod seemingly without it conflicting with the new patch.

I believe the problem however to originate from the original game files, or the exe file to be more precise. Why? When i installed the 1.2 patch, the game would crash either during startup, loading or fasttraveling everything putting the exe file in focus. Reluctantly, i then used an exe-fix to no avail. In despair i then used a crack for the 1.511 patch and to my surprise it actually worked. Wether this is the origin of the glitch or nothing at all it may pose a problem.
