monk 15th level problem

I have a problem with my monk accepting 16th level, the game freezes and doesnt respond. I have placed a XP capper file in the override file but still I cannot accept 16th level for my monk. Is there a solution for this problem please, or is it a bug or do I need a certain patch. Any help would be great.
