No super repair kit from Valerie

I delivered wrench (found one in Redding) and tools to Valerie. In walkthrough it says she's suppost to give me Super Repair Kit. But she says: Thanks. Here's a few bucks for your trouble..." Then I can't speak with her again. What the hell is going on :O?

rest a day or two and talk to her again.. you can steal the others off her

That worked. Strange they don't mention it in Walkthrough. How would one ever figure that out. Thanks alot. Finally I'll get that car!
