:) Are there any letdowns if one is a imperial and birth sign is the warrior. Or is it a good combo for ones character.

You can make any combination of race/class work in this game. It's more a question of personal style or preference.

I myself created an Imperial warrior type with the warrior birthsign and he worked out just fine. It's hard to go wrong with attribute bonus type birthsigns.

I made him an Imperial because of personal preference, but it could be easily argued that he would have been been an even stronger character had I chosen Orc or Redguard.

I found having "Voice of the Emperor" as a bonus power very useful at times, as I rarely needed to play the speechcraft minigame, which I found to be rather tedious.
