please can anyone help me with this? (SPOILERS)

On the fighters guild quest "Mystery at Harlun's Watch," where i must kill all the trolls in Swampy cave and find the lost townsfolk. Well i found the group of corpses, didnt get any message. so decided to kill all the trolls. got a message after that saying find evidence that the trolls were responsible for the disappearances of those people. So i went back to the dead bodies thats marked on the map and it still wont give me any update. I dont know what to do. the lady at Harlun's Watch just tells me to go find her friends and i keep going back to the dead bodies and i get no new update. I have looted anything in the zone i have reload the game twice i have checked every faq and nothing is helping me. I am standing on the green arrow where the corpses are and i just cant get the update to pop up saying that i have found them.
Any help?

Please remember to put a SPOILER tag in your thread title for something like this, per the sticky thread. I'll change this one, but future threads of yours might disappear if they need such a tag and don't have one.

Might want to change your thread title, too. Just to be a little more distinctive about your needs than a basic "help." But that's up to you.

I don't know how to fix it; the same thing happened to me and i had to start again. If your on computer you might be able to use a cheat to skip that mission or activate the update.

There might be a diary around. Otherwise, you could try slaying all those will'o'wisps, if I remember right.

also, i remember having problems with the cave as well. i found the corpses, was notified that the trolls were responsible an that i have to kill all of them. i did so, so at least that is what i thought. it turns out that close to the entrance, the cave splits making a short tunnel to the left. in that small dead end there is a troll. maybe you missed it. i did and it took me a while to discover it. when all the trolls are dead then you will receive the update message.

I can't remember every detail of this quest but if you search 1 of the bodies it might update your journal. If nothing happens after killing the trolls go back to the guy thqat gave you the quest and see if he/she tanks you for completing it.
