Duel wielding - Which weapon to compliment my Katana?
I have a Elf Ranger, and he is duel-wielding the Celest. Fury, But what weapon should I use for the other hand? Samurai's used a smaller sword like a Wakizashis, or Ninja-to, to compliment the larger sword when they used two weapons, but most of the time they two handed the Katana.
You know, my last owner always said I was sharp and edgy. Heheh. He was such an ass.

A sword like belm+2 would look really cool with celestial fury. Your right, Samarai always carried wakazachi(sp?) around with them, ninja-to's were strictly used by ninjas. Go with Belm or Kachiko's wakazachi if you're a roleplayer.
If you're more the powergaming type go for flail of the ages or crom faeyr.

Extortionist and trained pain in the ass, at your service.
What proficiencies does your character have? Are you powergaming or do you want to be realistic and roleplay? If you are powergaming, wield Crom Fayer (war hammer) in your off hand. If you are trying to be more realistic and roleplay, use the best wakizashi/ninja-to/short sword that comes along. (there are very few good wakizashis or ninja-tos.)

I like role playing, I just thought that a ranger wielding two Katanas looks stupid being that Katanas are mainly used with two hands, the weapon in the off hand were usually used for defense. But I agree that Belm would fit nicely. Thanks

Too bad the scarlet ninja to is only for monks!!!!
I want that sword!!!!
Keiko's wakisashi, is really for dual class mage-fighter, because it adds spells.
Either belm, or the daggers...pixie prick, nebs nasty cutter, stilleto of demarchess on the off hand. depends on whether you want the extra slow or stun effects, or the evil poison ability.
Specail note for power gamers...
The thunderstrike effect, that stuns the opponent of celestial fury works on creatures immune to slashing damage! I whacked clay golems with imoen wileding cleestial fury in the asylum, and they were stunned! This makes dual wielding celestial fury and crom feyr absolutely evil against golems and firegiants later in tob! Stun, and then whack with crom feyr.

Check out Musashi, the greatest swordsman of Japan. He was known for his "two heavens" technique, involving the use of two katana.Originally posted by concluder1:

In fact, the Kensai (the "sword saint") was patterned after him. He was known in Japan as the "Sword Saint."

That's a call you have to make.Originally posted by concluder1:

Try a short sword, then. There are some really interesting ones throughout the game, and a couple with excellent bonuses!
There is also the short sword KUNDANE.
It's small, light, fast, +2, and better yet (like Belm) grants the user an extra attack.
Meaning if you usually just get one attack a a around, try this experiment:
Dual wield CF with a standard short sword. You get two attacks, one with the right hand, one with the left.
Next put them both down and grab kundane in your right hand. Instead of one lousy attack you get two!
Next, grab CF with your right hand and switch Kundane over to your left hand. The extra attack is given to CF. You will get 3 attacks/round, with 2 being from CF, and 1 from Kundane.
Similarly, if you are a fighter with a base 2 attacks/round, CF+Kundane will give you a total of four, 3 from CF and one from Kundane.
It's really sick to give somebody with base 3 attacks/round Kundane off hand, you can get 5 attacks/around. And yes, you really do get them, I tested it and counted them (using autopause between round).
Useful.
