quick menu and opening chests
quick menu and opening chests
Hi. I am really new to this game and I cannot figure out how to use the quick menu and how to open chests. I open my inventory to use the quick menu and I press number one and the quick menu comes up, but when I go to select the potion that I want to put in the quick menu, the potion activates and nothing goes into number one. The instructions in the manual are no help at all. Also, how do you open a chest besides bashing it and how do you use your lockpicks on the chest. How come some chests have three icons down at the bottom and some chests only have one icon down at the bottom. Thanks for all your help. Sorry to be such a newbie.
If you want to add an item to quick menu, hold your mouse over it and press the appropriate key. So, if I want health potions to be used, I would hover the mouse over the potion in my inventory and press 8. Then every time I press 8 my character will drink a potion. Just hold the mouse over, don't select with it or you will just waste it.
When you are opening a chest, you look at the diagram and then press the symbols on the bar when the slider thing passes over them. To use lockpicks, look at the button to go to inventory..that will take a pair of lockpicks from your inventory for you to use.
Different chests are different levels, some are easy to open (level one) and some are much harder (level 9). (the number of symbols correlate with how difficult it is to open a chest). Try opening easy chests for practice...if you mess up, your character probably won't get very hurt at all.
If you need further help, you can always do a search for "chests" or "disarm".
The search feature is at the upper right of every page. Click on the button to go to advanced search, then type in your words. Scroll down the list to have results returned just from Dungeon Lords forum. That way, you won't have to sift through pages of stuff from other games.
