Crafting armor and weapons
Crafting armor and weapons
What's the trick to crafting armor? Bought the right mold for making red dragon half plate, had the scales, added some ingots, used the hammer on the keep anvil, but nothing happened. Craft armor level is 16.... did I not use the right type / number of ingots (or does that matter)?
Thanks in advance.......

Crafting receipies
They're a little hard to find in the guide, but what it does is list every book and thus the formulas in them. I cut and pasted that to a document on my system so that I could refer to them.
As you go thru the game you also find most of them and could copy them upon Examining each one.

crafting ad nauseum
Thanks..... actually I have written down the recipes from the books (lets me sell the books afterward!) I was referring to the "recipes" for armor -- as in your example of 3 umberhulk hides to form that armor. How did you find out that it takes 3 hides, and does that number apply to all such armor crafting?

That is a useful list, but it does not give you "recipes" for creature armor. There is actually a more detailed version floating around the bioware forum in MS Word form that is nice to have.
I haven't tried, but you could probably search and find a recipe list that includes the recipes for the creature armors, shields, etc.

Salamander hide (possible spoiler)
I discovered that 3 salamander hides and the studded leather armor mold makes some armor that is 15 R for fire and is +1 overall. Not that useful, unfortunately.
The umber hulk half-plate seems to be the best I can do with creature armor. Using two of them to make a heavy shield is pretty nice, though. You can't make a light shield out of it.
