Game Freezes

I've been playing ToB now for a few weeks (no I'm not crappy, its just that I work 9 hour days and only can play for an hour or two at night) and I have finished of Saradush, and the Yaga Shagur parts... then went on to Watcher's Keep to do some leveling up. I had made it all the way down to the crazy mage and machine level, defeated him and went back to the Hell plane. I had Cesspenar create some items for me, and then when I went to exit the level again it shows my party transporting, then the loading screen comes up, and they are all still in the Hell plane, and my computer has frozen. I can't do anything on my computer except for CTRL-ALT DEL to reboot it. I was on day 19 and I seriously don't want to play it all over again. Are there any ways to fix this problem?

Do you have any mods installed?
Which official patches are installed?
Have you installed any bug fix unnofficial patches, such as from the Ease of Use Mod or the Gibberlings3 Tweak Pack?
Have you tried go into your BG2 program folder, copying your saves folder to somewhere else like My Documents (so you don't lose your saves while reinstalling), uninstalling then reinstalling the game, then copying the saves folder back again?

I haven't tried any of that...

Patch I've downloaded was this one...

BGII-THRONEOFBHAAL_PATCH_26498_ENGLISH

However... I'll copy my save game files and try uninstalling the game with a new re-install.

Try installing the patch before uninstalling your game. If it works, you won't need to go to all the hassle.

I did instal the patch that I listed above... it didn't help my situation.

Before you uninstall, move your saved game file to another location on your drive. Then, after you uninstall, reinstall, and create a new party, move that saved game file back in place, and reload it. See if it works, then.

Let me add from experience...take a couple more previous saves and follow Fables advice......I had to do a re-install once and the latest save I had was corrupt.......

Status Update

I uninstalled my entire BG II and TOB files, and then reinstalled the games.

After backing up my saved files to My Documents, then putting them back into the regular saved files area for BG II, I loaded up my game. Unfortunately it does the exact same thing and freezes up the game again. I've lost everything... and have to start all over again in Saradush...

As an update...

I had restarted the game, and have basically kept the same party - minus Minsc w/ Korgan

Made it all the way to Watcher's Keep and have passed the infernal machine...

I saved in three different spots to make sure I had the same level in three slots.

So I tried it out again, and teleported back to the Hell Plane...

Updated some items with Cespanar, and when I went to teleport back, the game froze up.

Hopefully once I'm done Watcher's Keep, when I teleport back to the plane, I will still be able to make it on to the Oasis.
