Cheydinhal Quest: Corruption and Conscience HELP ME!

Post by Entreri »

Here's my problem. I've almost completed the quest to remove the corrupt captain from the Cheydinhal guard. I'm supposed to go to some tavern in two hours to wait for the second in command of the guard to wrap up the quest. I waited well over 2 hours but he never showed. The map indicator was green when I waled in and it pointed out that I was in the right place. Furthermore I went out looking for the second in command (who I talked to to complete the quest) and I couldn't find him anywhere.

Any ideas?

i had the same problem. i went inside and waited. the guy didn't show and he wasn't outside either after the two hours. it turns out that he doesn't enter the tavern. or at least i guess so. i found him after two hours but outside, in front of the tavern. if you wait inside and the two hours pass you will loose him. so, wait for him outside.

I read in a guide that things can get screwed up if you wait in front of him in the castle. Not sure if that happened.

What I did was I exited the town and waited outside the gates 'wait 2 hours'

Then I returned and he was in front of the tavern.

So if I waited inside the tavern for 2 hours I have no chance of getting to him?

If you have a save game I would start the 'intrigue' at 8 am so it is not night when you are waiting for him. Then go outside the city and wait 2 hours.

If you have no save game I have heard reports that eventually much later in the game you might get notification that this quest proceeds as normal. It will tell you that you are being waited for at the tavern.

I always save before a quest and before entering a town or ruin etc.

Actually, I had no problems with this quest. What I did was that I strolled around town for two hours, then, after those two hours had passed, I went to the tavern, finding the zealous do-gooder there as by our appointment. Hope this works for you.
