Empire Hotel - elevators not working

I am currently Downtown, trying to complete the pestilance quest. I have been told to speak to Jezebel Locke at the Empire hotel,

However, -I can't get the elevators to work in the hotel. I got the room key (the sneaky way as I don't have enough persuasion) and went to the elvators but nothing happens. The button highlights and I can press E but still nothing....Any advice?

Well

You need to get the cursor in just the right spot over the button. I usually have to get up close in 1st person view.

That happened more than once to me too

Easiest way to handle this: walk out of the hotel and walk back in and hope that it works this time.

Going in and out again didn't work.

What I eventually did was get the room key for Jezebel, then speak to the guy on reception but when he first tells me he can't give me the key, I picked the "whatever, thanks" option and it seemed to work. Don't know what was going on but it eventually worked. When i killed her and then went to get the lift back down, I had a similar problem but eventually got the right angle. Wierd. But all done now!
