Bodhi's Lair

Post by SlimJim »

I have been sent by Elhan or whateever his name is to get the lanthorn. On the way i recruit Dritzz. When i get to the final battle dritzz himself is killed by bhodi. i kill bodhi etc. Then i notice Dritzz's stuff on the floor. The thing i want to know is if i take his stuff will that guy i heard about still appear?

Thanks

The guy appears every time you have some of Drizzt's stuff, no matter how you acquired it. Whether you killed and looted him, or you just put some of his stuff in your inventory via shadowkeeper, it does not matter.

I seem to remember hearing that even if you kill that guy, he comes back, but I'm not that sure about it.

I'm pretty sure that there is a way around it though...

I remember reading somewhere you can install a mod which prevents the guy from appearing. Not sure what it's called. Maybe a search could dig up some facts (too lazy to do it myself right now :p ).

Quoting from the excellent BG2 Tweak Pack Convenience Tweaks and/or Cheats:

Keep Drizzt's Loot, Disable Malchor Harpell (Weimer)
Non-Tutu
If you kill Drizzt and take his stuff, Malchor Harpell appears and takes it back. This would make more sense in BG where his loot was actually powerful. By that point in SoA, Drizzt's loot is mostly worthless and Malchor feels heavy-handed and out of place.

So that's the one you want, to disable Harpell.
