Ummm...HELL YES!
Icewind Dale may be a giant dungeon crawl but it's great fun. The plot is surprisingly good for a game that is 90% fighting, and the music is magnificent (much better than Baldur's Gate or Shadows of Amn). There are no NPC interactions (since you make your own party) so if you like that sort of thing (and who doesn't?) you'll be disappointed. Regardless the game still kicks yeti ass. So get off your hunches and get playing it!!!

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Again? Depends, Craig. What do you want most out of a game? If you like plot and character, I'd suggest Planescape: Torment. If you prefer unending battles, IWD/HoW is the way to go. Somewhere in the middle is BG2, with a great dose of character interaction.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
