Game won't load at all (merged)

I bought the Collector's Edition yesterday, and loaded it onto my computer. It loaded fine, said it was installed, but when I click on the "Launch Dungeon Lords" icon, a small black screen pops up, then disappears, and the game never loads.

I'm running it on a hp pavillion mx70, with Windows XP. I checked to see that I had all the newest updates of DirectX and everything seems to be all right, there.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

That's a notebook computer, right? My guess is that your graphics card can't handle the game. Have you played and had luck with other games?

No, it's a desktop. And I've played many other games with no problems.

Help! Game won't open!

I would like some help. Every time i try to open dungeon lords, from the start menu or from the desktop, a black square appears and dissapears within a half second. I can't find anything within the manual or the FAQ pages. Any suggestions?
