So i finally got rolling in my HOW campaign after an almost fiasco where my machine would freeze up when i would try to import my characters from IWD. I like the new music, and Lonelywood has a totally different feel to it from Kuldahar. A couple of questions
1)Should I download and install Totl right now?
2) It seems like you can pilfer the hell of out of the rooms on the second floor of the Inn. Is this a good idea? will it affect my 'party rep' as it were?
3) with regards to the inn/alehouse. i like the ability to buy drinks and get rumors told to ya. but my bard got a little drunk, and the next thing i knew, he'd made it with the bar floozy and my 'rep' got damaged! oh well, what can you expect from a chaotic neutral bard who hasn't gotten some in a while...
HOW sweet it is!

2) IIRC it doesnt affect your rep, but IIRC there's not very much interesting stuff to be had there
3) What is your question here exactly?
'I think therefore I am, i think'
TotLM installation doesn't affect your game. You can go to the expansion any time in HoW (or even after winning).
No rep loss for stealing - there isn't anyone up there to catch you, is there?
I guess the rep loss is from the people in the village - they don't look kindly on you using and abusing the damsel in distress (***spoiler*** there are other dialogue options that let you solve this quest, sleeping with her ruins that). Your party might be high-fiving your bard but that's not what rep is about.
LOL
Nice self-censorship. You could have phrased it in a less vulgar fashion though.

Heh, could've been something like "If you investigate her hairy parcel with your worm".

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
