a few questions

Post by nliten »

ok...i've been playing divine divinity for a little while now....
i understand the game and much about its content...i've been playing video games for over a decade, so i have no questions regarding gameplay/retarded questions...

what i want to ask is:
i've viewed a few forms/message boards/FAQS etc etc...
and i've noticed that there might possibly be a few points in the game where a certain task/action is required at a critical point that must be done (and if not saved) is irreversalbe (sp?)...

what i want to know is if anyone can remember any crucial parts that something is needed to be done that is ABSOLUTELY neccessary....i.e = will not a get a chance to do again....
i'm just really enjoying the game and would hate to save it at a point that would require me to restart the game because if that happens, i will probably not continue to play.....

any help would be very much appreciated.... :)

The game is well-constructed, so that you can't do something that destroys your chances of winning unless you do something really stupid--like kill off people just for the hell of it. You're always told what needs to be done, and how to do it.

But if have to need everything to track, I'd suggest reading a walkthrough. Though personally, I think they take a lot of the fun out of a game.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Up to the point of doing all the seven council quests, the game is pretty open on what you do when. I MUST give a warning that you could mess up opportunities for quests and rewards if you lead monsters into attacking quest givers. Other than that, it's up to you on how to proceed although you get higher experience for doing an area before you get too high in levels. Which makes going thru the beginner dungeon under the fountain a top priority in my opinion.
I'd rather be part bull than a complete sheep.

* Yes, there is one potential action that I know that if you do a certain action it has the real means of disrupting a very important quest that has to do with the Council of Seven. Several walktrhoughs warn of it.

* If you would like to know just say so.

Walkthrough Warnings

Several forums and walkthroughs I looked at prior to playing the game all equally warned me NOT to use magic of any kind during my final battle with the Demon of Lies. So when I got to that battle I saved before entering the room and tried it both ways.

Warning was: If you use magic in the final battle, all the clones of himself that Demon of Lies summons all look up to the heavens at the end of the battle as if frozen and you don't see the final cut scene.

Reality for me was: I used magic in the final battle, all the clones of Demon of Lies looked up to the heavens if I killed them before killing Demon of Lies, but when i finally killed the Demon of Lies I saw the whole cut-scene ending.

Just to make sure, I reloaded and fought the end battle again with no magic and got the same ending.

On the other hand, killing the Demon of Lies with my Noble Dagger was depressingly simple, compared to the earlier magic battle which was, well, a battle! More fun. Oh well. Frosted weapons totally tanked this game at the end. Be careful wielding one of those at the end of the game. Game might become boring.

I still loved it, overall. great game.
