How do I continue to use the same character?
How do I continue to use the same character?
I finished the game and it says I can either use the same character or start new. I want to use the same character and continue to explore, but I cannot figure oue how to do this. Can anyone help?
Hi,
This has been discussed on this board before.
Short answer: Can't do it
I did give it some thought however and I have a couple of ideas you might try.
1) Multiplayer (LAN)
-- If you have a save game in or around the Irynthabl maze, for example, load that game in LAN. Chose to play your last saved singleplayer and start a game. Then save in a new slot. You can now play your character in single player and explore to your hearts content.
2) Climbing
-- For this you have to be very good at climbing stuff...I mean really good
After taking care of the Demon, Shaederoth, don't free Galdryn. Instead, pick up the relics and look to the SW and you will see some pointy rocks you can climb. This takes time, practice and patience. Once on top go north to the edge then east and find a pointy rock sticking out of the wall to jump onto to break your fall. You are now free to explore the realm
One thing I should mention though, the moonbridges will all be disabled so your gonna have to hoof it
If you wish to return to the shadow realm you will have to scale the mountains to get there. The shadow realm is located directly west of the Vale of Ruin. And I know, it's not on the map  There is a pointy rock you can climb to get back in. It's in the middle of the east wall of the shadow realm.
Good luck

The only way to modify your stats is with an editor. There is an editor available on this forum. Check out the top sticky for steve's editor ver.1.56. Read some of the replies that have been posted to give you an idea how it works. It still has some un-resolved issues with adv. points and quests so read up on the solutions that posters have come up with. It will save some time and trouble for you.

:speech: You can climb that sheer wall??? It looks like about 500 feet straight up in my game! Or has something gone awry with my meshes? Is there by any chance a list of known locations where climbing the mountains is possible? I have only found the place in the very first valley, before you enter Fargrove sewers.

Because you can
First I'll correct myself....Demon Realm not Shadow realm...my bad
I did it on my own however as I had fun exploring and finding those places myself. The trouble I had was remembering the places I had found to climb.
I couldn't find them again when I wanted to use them.
I finally started to remember where they were by using landmarks in the vicinity like buildings, rocks or trees for example and using the compass.

Yes you can. There is a pointy rock imbedded in the east wall that can be climbed to get in.You can climb that sheer wall??? It looks like about 500 feet straight up in my game!
Somewhere on this forum someone posted some locations. You will have to use the search to find it.Is there by any chance a list of known locations where climbing the mountains is possible? I have only found the place in the very first valley, before you enter Fargrove sewers.

A few places I've tried
I started marking locations on a map and here is what I have so far. You may have to zoom in a bit to see the red vee shaped marks. The direction of the V points to where you can climb. It's not a complete set by any means but, like War Wiz, remembering them became an issue.
In skuldoon you can backflip in and out of the gate at the south west to do quests ahead of schedule. Also you can climb up the hill behind Vartugg's castle? and get to the moon bridge on the other side. I am planning to use this climb/route to get to the labyrinth, which is supposed to be climbable also somewhere in the SW, and see if I can get some uber weapons in the chests there.
Usually its a one way trip if you go down the other side - well so far that's been the case.
I've also noticed that if you are on one side of the mountains then you get spawns of the type of creatures that live on that side of the mountian. Imagine my surprise when my level 9-10 character ran into Tree critters from the Vale of Ruin - good exp points though.
Bill ... If you want to use this map or a bigger one I have - upload limits shrank this one - then let me know and I'll send it to you to continue this pioneering work! I think red V's could be improved upon though! Perhaps a numbered guide with notes?
Great info about getting out of Demon Realm War-Wiz, thanks.

Really, how many people do you know that are not NPCs?
