I was just wondering, which boss did you find the hardest? Belheift (boss of Icewind Dale) or the white dragon (boss of Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter)?
I found the White Dragon of Heart of Winter the hardest cause the lizard minions back her up.

For me Icasaracht was fairly easy (at least when not on Heart of Fury mode) since she doesn’t do the dragon’s most effective attack; wind buffet. She gets a crappy little whirlwind instead. Her breath attack is fairly good but she seldom uses it. I usually mage-bomb her fish minions (i.e. load a mage up with protective magics then walk into the middle of a big group and cast multiple sunfires) while my hasted warriors make short work of the dragon. Belhifet is a little bit tougher (with his added Cornugon backup after Heart of Winter is installed) but still no problem. The hardest enemy I fought in Icewind Dale was Maiden Ilmadia and her Fire Giants in lower Dorn’s Deep. So I guess you could say the bosses disappointed me a little. Even Irenicus from Shadows of Amn crumpled a little too fast for my tastes. Out of all Bioware’s D&D games, the end boss who gave me the best fight was easily Sarevok of Baldur’s Gate. No main antagonists since have given me such grief. Encore Sarevok! Image Here’s hoping Neverwinter Nights has a baddie who’ll kick my ass back to the Stone Age (and if it doesn’t, I plan to make a module that does). Image

Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

It took me a while but I went through the game solo with a level 30 cleric dwarf both HoW and ID. That's why I found the White Dragon the hardest while Belheift was EASY. Even with his golems. The hardest person of AD&D games was Drizzt in BG: TotSC.

Yeah I forgot about Drizzt. Image Though even he wasn't too bad when I had an army of summoned monsters swarming him. You fight Sarevok in a much more enclosed area with undisarmable traps and his own party to back him up. But Drizzt kicked ass (although in Shadows of Amn I could take him and his entire group with my only my Kensai/Mage Image) Anyone else curious as to why he's white in bg2? I thought that was frickin' weird.

He was white. That's wierd, because in the R.A. Salvatore he was a dark elf ranger, with purple eyes, white hair, and of course black skin. Too bad that Icewind Dale does'nt take like 100 years later so you could find Wulfgar, Drizzt, Catti-Bri, and Bruenor Battlehammer in the game!!! Image Image

In Baldur's Gate Drizzt has the proper black skin and white hair, his clothes being dark blue. In Shadows of Amn he has tanned Caucasian skin tone with light blue as his primary color and orange as his secondary. Now I don't mind the lighter scheme for his clothing but for God's sake, KEEP HIM A FRICKING DROW!

I found Icasaracht to be the most difficult in IWD & HOW because she could only be harmed with +3 weapons and at that stage in the game, i only had like one +3 weapon!

Belheift and the dragon were easy since my party were at a ridiculous level with lots of powerful weapons.

If you want to talk about BG & TOTSC, I found the last battle with Sarevok more challenging than the battles with Irenicus (heck, I found the demon in Ulgoth's Beard was more challenging than Irenicus).

You should have quite a few +3 weapons by before confronting Icasaracht so why did you have only one? I mean you get the sceptre of tyranny +4 club, pestilent dawn mace +4 (graned it is non-good only), Debian's rod of smiting +3 club, Icon of Power +4 halberd from the room with all those sahuagin, water kiln elemental and ice golems just before entering Icasaracht's lair.

I agree with Blackrose - Yxonomei caused me much heartache!

In the end I sent in my cleric using Sanctuary and after the dialogue raid the area for treasure. I then ran like hell casting area spells and closing the doors behind me! Eventually I had just her and a couple of dying minions!

The first mistake I made on the way to Yxonomei was using my cleric and Sanctuary to raid all the rooms and avoid having to fight all the minions on the way to her. What happens on the way back? Spoiler...

Well all of the doors open as she chases you and there are hundreds more to fight! I thought this was cool (after doing it the right way!) and will not make the same mistake twice...especially as I am playing in Heart of Fury mode! :(
