Sand People (Peaceful) Not working? (SPOILERS)

Post by Jon_DDA »

I have searched the forums, read the threads about this, and I STILL can't figure it out.

I have the outfits WITH numbers equipped. On my main guy, it reads 13, on Bastilla it reads 20, and than I have HK. I have tried unequipping EVERYTHING on all of them, other than the outfits and the sticks. Everytime I enter I get attacked, no questions asked.

I tried once killing all the sand people outside, far enough away from the turrets, got by them fine everytime. It JUST entering I have a problem.

EDIT: I also tried entering with just the outfits and no sticks.

I have tried re-starting the game, as was mentioned in some other threads, still doesn't work.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I might even FRAPS it just to show what is happening.

I am FULL lightside, I don't feel like getting DS points here. I want to do this the peaceful way, I have never done it that way before.

EDIT: >,< I just realised I forgot to put [SPOILERS] In the title. I am very sorry.

Not a problem. I'll change it. The fact that you're still having problems after searching our database indicates this is something beyond the range of a standard issue difficulty.

Basically meaning that:

1) I was expressing appreciation that you'd actually searched the database,

2) I added SPOILER for you, and

3) Since your question described a unique condition, not solvable by standard methods outlined in our database, I was going to leave this thread open instead of closing it, which we normally do when people post questions that duplicate others in our forums.

Hopefully, somebody will have other suggestions for you, since nothing we've got on record works. Good luck.

I didn't mean any dis-respect.

I'm just really frustrated, seeing as to how you can't advance on Tatooine unless you do the sand people quest.

Hopefully some one can help.

Blech.

You might also try posting on the developers' board. I suspect they have more traffic, though that may also mean threads vanish more quickly, and spammers are more frequent. Still, give us a chance--maybe a day or two, to help. :)

Could you possibly give me a link to this "Developer's Board" ?

Just click here and use the menu at the left to choose the version of the game you have from Message Boards.

Have you entered the enclave without the outfits on?

IIRC you wont get DS points for going in and defending yourself. You WILL get DS points for negotiating and killing the Sand People anyway.

Maybe try not to attack a large group of Sand People guarding the entrance to the Sand People enclave (in the area with the broken down Sandcrawler)? I think that it might help. Just make sure you're wearing the Sand People clothing (yes, the one with the numbers) to get past them.

The sand people guarding the entrance to the other area are the only supply of Sand People clothing. I have walked around getting ambushed, and only one corpse is lootable each ambush, they only drop a grenade and something else.

What about the Sand People that attacked the crew of the stranded Sandcrawler? Did you fight them? Because I recall that they will drop Sand People clothing as well (including the Sand People Elite clothing which have numbers).

Well.

For some reason it worked.

I started playing at an earlier save point. Went around and leveled up first. This time I only got 1 pair of ## clothing, so It was just me and HK. But w/e It worked I'm happy.

I do the Miner attack every time, they never drop anything. It is just off the ones guarding the other area.

This is a common bug. I think it is triggered by teleporting to the ebon hawk when in the desert or after getting the clothes or something. The only way to get passed it is to return to a previous save. Always keep milestone saves on Kotor for just this reason.

Did you enter the Enclave accidentally without HK the first time?

The first time I played the game, I walked into the camp without HK. The Sandpeople gaurd at the front didn't turn red (as I hadn't gotten close enough to trigger), so I walked back out to the Sand People territory to add HK to my party. When I re-entered the camp with HK (and the clothing on), the guard there would turn red no matter what I tried.

Make sure you have HK with you the first time you enter the camp.

Interesting. I had the same problem with being attacked on sight upon entering the enclave (PC version). I had not teleported or changed party members (Carth/HK) upon entering the desert; I may have been wearing the "wrong" non-numbered robes in ignorance though. I had attributed the problem to fighting/killing Sand People after acquiring the robes. I explored the map counterclockwise, came upon/fought the group at the entrance to the next map (Sand People Territory), but figured I'd explore the rest of the Dune Sea map before equipping the robes I'd picked up. I was then attacked by a second group of Sand People whom I had to kill...

To my experience the ambushes allways yield Tuskan clothing.
I have the same problem you describe, or something very similiar, due to the fact that I was attacked by the guards to the next part of the desert and forced to defend myself. I don't know why, maybe I donned the disguise to close to them or something. As you said, nothing an earlier save couldn't fix. But then too I used disguise from the ambushes earlier in that part of the desert.
