Does anyone have any good tactics against the "Bombardeer Beetles"???

Also I have come across quite an annoying bug.....
I'm currently playing as a "Druid"....the problem is as follows:
Usually I like to shapechange into the "beetle"....when doing so I gain some hitpoints.....the problem occurs when I save the game and my character is still shapechanged......now when I load any save that has been made when my character is "shapechanged" my character is dead....portrait is greyed out and the body is nowhere to be found.....has this happened to anyone else???

Hmmm... I don't know about the second problem might be bug. But for the first question you could have a ranger or thief for this stratagy. Hide in shadow go away from beetles so that only about two are in sight. Shoot one with arrow make him follow you. While your party is around the corner. Then keep making your character run but keep them in sight and the beetle will run into your party Image and kill the bug...repeat. If your in the Dragon Eye map area where there's tons of these beetles, it's goinga take really long. Hope your the patient kind!

Beetles: check my tactics section Image

Try these:

Have a tank up-front. Have them protected from acid, and using the Broadsword (Everard's?) +2. Hit the beetles from a range.

Alternatively, have someone up front and wait till the beetles are right on you - run away as they spread their acid - it should just miss you. You may have to do this several times as they swarm at you. But they only get one acid spray each.

This is my style of dealing with 'em, hope it helps:

Have a ranger scout ahead and locate them. Once located, shoot something at them and retreat. Let them huff and puff for awhile before you move in all your fighters on them, one bug at a time. The damage they inflict on you would be minimal. Some good weapons to use on them are flaming swords and morning stars, and if I'm not mistaken, fire arrows as well.

Equip everyone with bows and slings and edge forward VERY SLOWLY. Once one comes in site, hit them with all you've got. Using this tactic means that you can usually take on 3 at a time and take them out before they get to you.
