Can't kill Tazok using Tutu.

I am playing my first runthrough in Tutu. In the bandit camp I used oil of speed to avoid him starting his dialogue. After he was "Nearly Dead" I hit him with about 800 hit pints and he is still "Nearly Dead". I then ran out of arrows.
Is it worthwhile going to get a supply of arrows, or are the programmers cheating so that he cannot be killed no matter what?

Programmer cheating so that you have to face him again later.

Thanks. I've killed him twice many a time in the standard game, but you have confirmed what I thought must be the case about Tutu.

Well maybe I was wrong, it happens once a century or so.
I checked his .cre file using Shadow Keeper expecting to find he was wearing one of those darned min1hp items, but he isn't. So, as he isn't wearing a 'cheat' item, there must be another cause. Maybe the problem is caused by the way they've scripted that particular encounter, and, unlike the original game, he can't be killed until after completing his scripted dialogue, which you've attempted to bypass.

I think this is most close to the truth, as I didn't have any problems in killing him, and I let the dialogue to start...
It's usually good idea to let the dialogies to start, as some may result additions to journal, and some may even result small ammount of exp...
Best way to "cheat" around the this to gain the initative is to cast some area affecting spells (fireball, web and such) and when the caster has released the spells and you see it going towards the target, get close enough that special NPC so that the dialogue begins. Usually, right after the dialogue ends, the spells get to the target, and you have got the initative.

I would hardly say that you are "cheating around it". Overcoming a cheat with another cheat is hardly cheating IMO. I'll try it out and confirm probably today or tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Tried it last night with another character and no problem. He panicked and was then easy to kill. So maybe not a Tutu thing at all. I'll just have to wait and see how things pan out in future games.

He's definitely worth killing cos he drops gauntlets of weapon expertise

Not to mention the 4000 exp points.

After re-installing Tutu recently, I again found that once again he wasn't killable. I think that it is something to do with the version of Tutu that you use, but I am not sure.
However a mod NPC project fixes it.
I for one was delighted on installing the NPC Project, that a side-effect is that he is once again killable. Not wanting to give too much away, apparently there is a storyline connected with this if you have a certain NPC in your party.
