Ranger stronghold quest

Post by B'Elanna »

so, i completed the Umar hills thing, and they gave me the ranger cabin as my stronghold. after that, I rescued Imoen, went through the underdark, and saved the people of trademeet. then, when i went back to Umar hills to check on everything, they said that i was not worthy of my ranger status, the cabin was no longer mine, and that i should just leave! a little dwarf wouldnt even sell me anything! i checked my reputation and it was still at 18 so i dont know why they said i was no longer worthy. i nkow its not essential to the plot of the game, but i liked having a little stronghold! so, if anyone has any ideas on what happened, i'd appreciate a response. thanks guys!

It's possible at one point your reputation fell below 10 or that you have neglected to do the quests that were required of you.

i dont see how it would have fallen below 10. its been at 17 for a while and just went up to 18 after trademeet. as for quests, i did the shadow lord one, the ogre treaty thing, and then stopped the noble from tearing up the forest. was there another quest i missed when in the underdark or something?

No, I think that's it. Also, if you killed any innocent bystanders or if your alignment changed, you would be denied of your stronghold.

That happened to me once, because I stayed away too long and/or took too long to respond to a request for help.

This is most probably the reason. I've experienced same thing at least Thief Stronghold

I'm not sure about the Ranger Stronghold, but at least thieves let me retake my stronghold after it was taken away from me after too long time of neglecting it...

Did you, by any chance, bought the kids swords and ale, B'Elanna?

Unless you received word earlier from the Umar Hills, asking you for help, I doubt it's a timer related issue.

Could also be that you just bought them ale before clearing out the cave where they go to drink it. Also did you go to check that they were all right afterwards? You should meet thekm drunk and later on they should walk off.

Well, unlike the Thief stronghold the Ranger stronghold has an ending. So after you've got the Moondog Figurine you can pretty much go anywhere you want.

The Thief Stronghold however requires you to check back every 5 days ON END, so you will inevitably lose it if you set on a long journey, like to the Underdark for instance.

Actually it's very easy NOT to lose the stronghold while traveling and so forth. I've beaten the entire game without losing the thief stronghold.

I recall reading somewhere timed events like the thiefs stronghold where paused while towards the underdark.

the ranger stronghold does have a time limit, and I know from experience that you're screwed if you go to spellhold while in the middle of the stronghold.

Well, at least in my case that didn't work, as I lost the stronghold while visiting Spellhold and Underdark... and I visited my stronghold as a last thing before leaving to Spellhold...
