Help with my bard!

Post by Fomalhaut »

My bard ahs memorized 2 spells so far, but she simply cannot cast them. I select the character, go to "spells", and I get the icon with the number in the corner, but it's grey and unclickable.
And it's not the level, since she's at level 5 and still cannot use things like Identify. Nor the attributes, for both her Intelligence and Charisma are pretty high.
What can I do?

What is your bard wearing?
Armor can affect the ability to cast spells.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

To cast spells you also need to prepare the spell ahead of time. On the left menu bar click on the wizard spell book (there is also a priest scroll for priest) and then fill in all the boxes with spells of your choice. Now Rest. Now the moon and stars should light up which is what you click to cast the spell.

I haven't tried identify yet but it might not be handled as a combat spell. This would mean it doesn't light up the moon and stars. I would think in that case that you right click an item and choose identify box.

You also sometimes need a minimum casting stat in games but I think this addition of DnD gives you the score automatically that you need as a bard to cast first level spells.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Thank you, I think the armor was the problem :) Sorry for not noticing that in advance.
