I bought the copy of Baulder's gate 'The Original Sage' that has both that includes the expansion pack. In the menu, below load game is 'Mission pack' and when you click on it a box pops up and says load you're last save game and you will be taken to Ulgath's something, can't remember the name.
Two problems. After I beat Sarevok it said it had saved a final game...it didn't. Also, when I tried to load a game, it just loaded the game, it did not actually take my characters to the Ulgath place. It was right before I killed Sarevok so I just killed him again, hoping it would THEN take me onto the place, to didn't, it just ended the game.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Or if it's a glitch there might be some patch I can downloud to fix it? Because I really do want to carry the characters onto the expansion.
Thanks.
How do you get the expansion pack working?
The final battle with Sarevok is the final scene in the game, you have to complete the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion, before then.
If Ulgoth's Beard isn't on your map, then there should be an area east of Baldur's Gate that looks like a field. Go there and exit from the north east corner.
Durlag Tower should be on your map if you've done any adventuring in the south east are of the world map. If none of the field, Ulgoth's Beard or Durlag's Tower show up on your map, then it would seem you need to either install, or reinstall Tales of the Sword Coast.

I have the very same problem. None of the Sword Coast areas are on my map and it's not possible for me to gain access to them.
As for the peasant and Zombie area east of Baldur's Gate - I left it towards the northeast, but there still was no Ulgoth's Beard on the map.
As for deleting and reinstalling Sworcoast, I'm a bit scared to loose my group and my saved games if I do. I fear there is a bug and it might not possible to play the extension pack if you installed swordcoast BEFORE the original game.
Does anyone know a solution? Please? How did all of you get your groups into Swordcoast?

Try copying your save game folder to another directory.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Yes!!! Thanks so much - it works now!
I suppose the tricky thing is, you need to install the normal BG first, then play with a group, and then install Sword Coast. When you install Sword Coast it autmatically takes your group into the game. Somehow it's logical, they expected people to buy and play the original game first and then buy the extension pack.
Probably they never planned on people installing both games at the same time and therefore it's bugged if you do. *sighs*
Well anyway, Ulgoth's Beard here I come
