Marriage question I haven't found...

Post by effessem! »

Hi all, I'm new to the boards, and likely a rare one to have just recently gotten into Fable: TLC. Actually, it was because I didn't even know it got ported...anyone whoever mentioned the game talked of the Xbox version, and I'm not really a console guy. *shrug*

Anyway, did a first run through of the game, was very amused, loved it, and now I'm early with a second go around. I was as evil as I could stomach to be as an archer, and now I'm contemplating a good life as an arse-faced warrior/spell-slinger. :)

Now I'm referring to a walkthrough every so often, discovering a few things I've missed here and there and eager to give them a try. A few questions, if you would:

1) The one I couldn't find searching...I married a lot of gals first time through, but that got tiresome to upkeep, so I divorced a few to be more evil, and uh, dealt with some others more permanently. Ahem. Being mature now, this time I may pick up one of the men this play through to hear the dialogue and see what happens with that. I'm thinking about it, but one thing's preventing me: the one thing I liked about many wives (before they got annoying) were the gifts! To me, I mean. :D Not always stellar, mind, but always worth its weight in gold, eh? Now, I'm a practical player first and foremost: amusement only goes so far, and to me, it did take a little time before the wife started giving me stuff. Will a man give me gifts later too, or would I just be wasting my time? I'm THINKING yes, because while I haven't done it yet, Fable seems to treat marriage equally, or am I wrong?

2) Anything special about marrying the girl in the arena? I didn't, but it seemed a special case given the context...

3) Do towns respawn after I destroy them (I mean, the people in them) Even evil I didn't do that, afraid it'd break the game or something, but boy, was I tempted every so often...

4) Can you find what's her face again, the girl in Oakvale you rescued her teddy for? After the cutscene, I did a little search, but gave up, because one of the problems I've had with Fable are the (mostly) nameless NPCs.

That's it for now, and thanks!

No. After talking to her, she'll just disappear. Sorry.

But there are plenty of girls that look alike... So just pick one and imagine it's her. :D

They do, with a slight change of clothes.

What's the point if they say the same lines over and over again just like the rest of the civilians? :p

That's my point exactly. Is she really that different from all the rest. Wan't a somewhat unique bride? Marry a guild apprentice.

Thanks for the help guys...

I just thought it was too bad you couldn't hook up with someone you actually knew in your childhood. I mean, she mentioned she moved back here, and then she disappears? Women! ;)

Went to Lionhead forums for the other questions, and just in case anyone cares for the answers...

1) Yes, the men do give gifts. So I nabbed one after a bit of work, and after a while, he gives me 2 pieces of chest plate mail. :speech: Trying to one up the various wives I had previous game, or something! If only it was the bright variety... :D Oh well. I think I'll keep him. But, the ladies are waiting, I like my gifts, and they're so much easier with their automatic full hearts!

2) It was Lady Grey. Can't believe I didn't explore that whole branch last game!
