If you are desperate to find the Champion orog for the Duel & for the Helm Cleaver!

Post by Agalia »

Hello everybody...

I was desperate too, I did my fight against the Cult, having the Orogs to help me as we agreed. After the fight, we were supposed to have a duel against their best Orog champion for the Helm Cleaver, but I never found them, they disappeared right after the fight against the Cult. I searched all over the place without any succes. Going back where we first met and agreed to fight together against the cult, but then again...no Orogs! At this point, I was really desperate, until I decide to continue the game as if in my mind, that matter was behind me and lost the Helm Cleaver. But....I'm not the one who will give up so easely thinking about it every moment...I have almost finished the lower Catacombs level and decide to go back to Hall of light at the same place where I had the fight against the Cult and then...something came to me....if I sleep at this right place knowing that it was not safe to sleep there, maybe I would have a chance to battle again, against the Cult and try on the same time to talk to the Orogs for that particular Duel to get the Helm Cleaver. And there was my surprise....!!!! I slept at this right place....its not safe to sleep there...but if you want to find the Orogs...that is what you have to do! Sleep and the orogs appears finally, you will not have to battle again, against the Cult, its only the group of orog that will appear and ask you finally for this Duel that we were waiting for, agree to fight against their best champion and you will see the door will suddenly open where the Helm Cleaver is...and there is your Duel and Helm Cleaver! please be indulgent for my written english, I'm french and I do not practice enough my english! thank you guys! hope you will find what you're looking for....

I saw that people were having problems getting the Helm Cleaver, and that thought never occurred to me. But If I remember correctly after the Orogs tought me whatever word it was I attacked and killed them gaining the Helm Cleaver right there and having it for the battle against the cult.

If you want the Helm Cleaver, here is what I had to do. After getting the Ring of Calling AND entering Myth Drannor, you can then go back into the dungeons, to go to the Halls of Light. At the Southern end of that level is where you will meet the Orogs, who will ask you for help in getting the Helm Cleaver. They also teach the Dragon Glyph and all that.

Open the door and help them fight the Cult. Once the fight is over, the Orogs will ask if they can keep the Helm Cleaver, while letting you keep whatever else treasure there is in the room. Whatever you do, DON'T agree to this. There is an option to fight for the Helm Cleaver. That is when you will be able to enter the room to fight the champion. Make sure you save your game before entering the room to fight the champion! That will give you the option of playing out this battle several times to see how things turn out.

After you win the fight, you will have the option of keeping the Helm Cleaver, or trading for the Gauntlets. It's up to you if you want it at that point.

If you've already let the Orogs walk away with the Helm Cleaver, I don't think you will have another shot at it without loading to a previously saved game.

Good luck.

beefcake responding to your reply....

hello beefcake,

I read your reply, but sincerely, I just don't understand to whom or what your reply refered to.

If you read me well, you will see that my post was refered to people just like me, that after the battle, lost the opportunity to fight the Orogs, because they just disappeared after the fight against the cult, I don't know if that was a bug of the game, but it just happened, and I'm not the only one here in that situation.

So, I'm explainning on my post what to do if that happens to anyone, but however, you, without reading me, have made a reply giving a solution and saying that it's impossible to get back this fight unless we find a previously saved game, which is wrong, please beefcake, *read me* and understand the meaning of my post!

Hello Soupalot

To respond to your question,

House of Light, at the same room where the battle with the cult took place. Remember Soupalot, when the orogs ask to help them with this fight, and after we shall fight with their best orog champion to gain the Helm Cleaver......

I'm on my way through the game a second time and I'd like to make a revision on a previous post... If you agree to help the Orogs against the cult they will teach you the Word of the Claw. If you attack and kill them as they are walking away you will find the Helm Cleaver in a chest in the room where the Cult are. But my Rogue can't open the door at the south end of that room. I don't recall having a problem getting into this room, but apparently it's gonna be a problem.
